oscars paediatric brain tumour charity

OSCAR’s PBTC (Ongoing, Support, Care and Research into Paediatric Brain Tumours Charity) was formed in the summer of 2014 by the parents and friends of Oscar. The journey Oscar went on for a year to try and be free of cancer, was both heart-breaking and inspiring to see. The treatments involved to fight brain tumours have devastating effects on a young body and mind. This is unacceptable and the only way to change this is by researching these cancers and find better treatments. The charity aims to fund critical research into paediatric brain tumours with the hope to find a cure and less devastating treatments. The Charity works closely with other charities.

The Hughes family (probably unbeknownst to them) have played a very supportive role in my life since my move to Dunnington; from eldest brother Sebastian very kindly helping me out when I mistakenly wrote on the Interactive board in whiteboard marker at school one day, to Marie being one of the first customers to order from Henry, Fred and Felicity when I was just starting out.

So when Marie and Ian’s middle son Oscar was diagnosed with a brain tumour, I wanted to help however possible. Oscar had a long battle ahead and over the next year he fought hard, he and the family carried themselves with strength and a bond of love; with support from family, friends and a whole community. Sadly Oscar was taken from us in May 2014, he is sorely missed but never forgotten. Oscar has touched our lives forever, and we are stronger for having been lucky enough to spend time with him.

10% of all sales from Henry, Fred and Felicity go to Oscar’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity. If you would like to find out more please visit their website, follow @OscarsCharity and like OscarsPBTC.
